Our road to adoption was a rocky one, but with the support of Lou Helt and many other wonderful volunteers we were able to adopt Brandy in the spring of 2006. She was a diamond in the rough. Low thyroid left her overweight, sleepy, bald and what coat she did have was rough. As she gradually began to feel better her personality came out and she was the belle of the neighborhood. She developed her own fan club and was notorious for “working the crowd” at any gathering at our house. It was a short 2 ½ years, but it was filled with unconditional love, ‘dober leans’ and a multitude of sweet memories. We are grateful to HMDD for giving us the opportunity to be Brandy’s family.
